Spring and Autumn are long and pleasant throughout Jordan. Rain falls from November through to March in the North, while in Aqaba on the Red Sea enjoys a warm and sunny climate all year round.

Public telephones can be found in hotels, restaurants, coffee shops and main streets. Direct Int’l Telephone, Telex and Fax services and Internet are available.

Various Arabic & English newspapers are available at newsstands as well as many other foreign publications. Postage stamps can be purchased at hotels or post offices.


TRANSPORTATION

Yellow Taxis with meters are very inexpensive and a convenient way to move around. White Taxis (service) follow set routes, stopping on request with standard fares. Buses are also available between major points in Amman as well as other cities in Jordan. Also, Jett Company operates a fleet of buses out of Jordan to Syria, Lebanon and other neighboring countries.


TIPPING

Most restaurants, cafes and night clubs include a service charge in their bill. Therefore, it is not necessary to tip waiters. On the other hand, if a service charge is not included, a ten percent tip is recommended.
